SAIC

SharePoint Migration

I organized the migration from a shared SharePoint environment to an Office 365 SharePoint environment.  I conducted meetings with the organization’s different departments to gather the requirements necessary to determine the organization’s overall SharePoint needs.  Based on these requirements, the SharePoint infrastructure was designed.

FEMA

ACT

ACT is a process driven task tracking system.  Workflows were built using .NET workflows on the SharePoint platform.  Dashboards were built using a combination of .aspx pages, html, and JQuery.

SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 Migration

Was also engaged to assist in the migration effort.  Initially, I was asked to be a liaison for several customers.  In this role, I guided FEMA customers to produce the necessary documentation needed by the migration team.  Later, I was asked to assist the migration team to resolve some of the more severe and difficult issues post migration.  Currently, I am one of three developers providing customization solutions for the SharePoint 2010 environment.

CRGT, SharePoint Architect

Reston, VA

May 2013 – August 2014

As the SharePoint Architect for the corporate office, I operated as both the administrator and architect for our corporate instance.  I also serve as the Subject Matter Expert to four business units and their billable work.  In the role of Subject Matter Expert for SharePoint, I help the business units on high profile projects.  I also helped vet candidates during the talent acquisition process.  In the role of administrator and architect for the corporate instance of SharePoint, I designed and implemented the following solutions using Visual Studio (C#):

·   July 2014

o   I am currently planning the upgrade of the SharePoint environments to SharePoint 2013.  I am also planning the implementations of several other solution requests.  This work, along with the completed work listed below, has been completed while working daily helpdesk requests.

·   January 2014 – June 2014

o   Onboarding Process

§   To aid in the onboarding of CRGT resources, I have built a process integrating Taleo, ADP, Active Directory, SharePoint, and KACE helpdesk.

·   December 2013

o   Contracts NDA and TA Requests

§   Using the Salesforce integration from OTIS 2.0, I built to list processes (Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer) to aid the Contracts team in their NDA and TA requests effort.

·   October 2013

o   Redesign of Resume Application

§   The existing resume application was cumbersome and very difficult to report on

§   I implemented a solution using MySites and enterprise search.  Users posted their resumes, skills, certifications, and other personal information.  Using search, this information became much easier to report on.

·   August 2013 – November 2013

o   OTIS 2.0

§   Before my arrival, CRGT previously committed to have a company build a Proposal Development solution.  The solution had already begun implementation when I started.  The solution was rolled out in June.  By July, the organization had identified some glaring deficiencies.

§   I redesigned the original solution and also implemented a number of key new requirements.

·                   Using Visual Studio, I implemented a number of workflows to aid in the process used by the Proposal team.  This replaced the existing solutions attempt at a “wizard” based approach.

§   I built a number of web parts and dashboards to aid in the management of the different proposal efforts

·   July 2013 – September 2013

o   PMRx Template

§   I created a project template allowing all project sites to follow the company standard

§   Prior to my arrival the content type were only created only at the list or library level.  Since they were not site content types, it was hard for the business to make changes across all the projects.

§   To resolve this, I used PowerShell to export the list content types.  Then using PowerShell, I imported the content types to site level and then applied them to each project site’s list or library.  This allowed the business to make global changes, while also allowing the project the flexibility to make changes specific to their project.

o   CRGT Kiosk

§   Created MVC web site for our several locations.

·    May 2013 – July 2013

o   Consolidation and Restructuring of existing SharePoint structure

§   When I arrived, the existing structure had been spread across multiple web applications without a true business requirement.  This caused issues for the user base.

§   The resolution was to consolidate and restructure the site collections spread across multiple web applications in to one web application.  I used ControlPoint for this effort.

§   Custom Search

·                   Crawl Rules

·                   Content Sources

·                   Search Results

o   Solution was a SPFeatureReciever allowing a group of employees to manage and search three types of medical information.  A user, using one of the custom content types/lists, could import or manually enter medical information.  The information’s originator or other users can create comments using Blog Post/Comments, which is seamless to the end users.  Two of the site columns were created using custom field definitions.  One was an enhancement to the OOTB Lookup field type, where I created a field allowing the lookup list to be defined as any list on any existing SharePoint site.  The control also allowed for the user to manually add values.  The final value of the field was a list of values either selected from the configured list or manually entered.  The second control was another composite control allowing the user to see blog post/comments related to a particular item.  The control also provided ‘add’ and ‘view’ comments links.  This seamlessly linked list items to any Blog Post/Comments about the item.

o   Solution involved work with Cascading Style Sheets, HTML, and JavaScript.
